NATCHITOCHES – Company and nonprofit representatives in Natchitoches, Winn, Sabine and DeSoto parishes saw their contributions at work this week as the United Way of Northwest Louisiana awarded funding to six nonprofit groups for eight local programs that support education, financial stability, health and essential needs.
“United Way works to bring groups together to find solutions and work at a community-wide level to address change,” said Bruce Willson, president and CEO of United Way of Northwest Louisiana. “By giving to United Way of Northwest Louisiana, you can have confidence that your contributions are invested wisely through our allocation grant process.”
The grant awards program was hosted at Northwestern State University.
Natchitoches Community Alliance Foundation – $15,000 (2 programs)
The Natchitoches Community Alliance Foundation (NCA) provides programs and leadership for economic development growth and workforce solutions impacting Natchitoches Parish and surrounding areas. The United Way is funding Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which provides books mailed to a child’s home each month. Children are eligible from birth to age five. The second program funded by United Way of Natchitoches Community Alliance Foundation is the Natchitoches Parish Education Summer Camps hosted at Northwestern State. These camps are for middle school students to learn STEM education and career development while inspiring students to value staying in school.
