NSU to Host LIDEA Training Academy for Economic Development

Natchitoches, LA —  The Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association (LIDEA), in partnership with Louisiana Economic Development (LED), will present an economic development academy on the campus of Northwestern State University on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 9:00am to 2:30pm.

The academy will focus the role of regional economic development organizations; the basics of community and economic development; how Louisiana uses a site database; the role that utility companies play; how to respond to a request for proposal; and finally, the role of the technical and community college.

The primary audience is elected officials at the municipal and parish levels, school board members, chambers of commerce, and other groups interested in learning more about the process that is “economic developoment.”
