Natchitoches is on the Move

Over the past 10 years, Natchitoches has made great strides in improving the city’s infrastructure, inevitably leading to a better business climate. Through a culmination of different factors, such as economic development incentives, skilled workforce, work-ready sites and higher standards on quality of life, Natchitoches has nurtured many businesses to expand and prosper within the Cane River region.

Mayor Wayne McCullen created a special commission called the Natchitoches Economic Development Commission to help guide economic development, create opportunities and strengthen existing businesses.

In addition to the work-ready sites and workforce, Natchitoches also has great tax incentives and financial subsidiaries, allowing for more growth for all industries.

The Natchitoches Advantage:

  • Transportation network which consists of interstates, state highways, air, rail and water transport
  • Diverse economy built around Northwestern State University, medical and social services, manufacturing, the retail trade and tourism
  • Low taxes and competitive operating costs
  • A multitude of cultural historical and recreational offerings
